As I’ve been noted here on ngblog, Cathy Brennan, a lesbian, was attacked at the New York City Dyke March this past weekend by a group of trans women and gender queers, several of whom were organizers.
Seems that group has a name: The Hole-y Army.
That should make the Southern Poverty Law Center’s job all the more easier.
If ever such a group qualifies for hate group classification, it would be The Hole-y Army.
Now if only SPLC is paying attention. it has been my observation, the SPLC seems to feel that when it comes to hate crimes within the LGBT community, said crimes that include assault, injury, murder, cybserstalking on social media including Facebook & Twitter, making death threats thru email and equally threatening comments on blogs, they’re just isolated incidents not worth paying mind to.
Or maybe they think that someone who looks like this is not someone to be taken serious?
Nonetheless, this ongoing incident concerning Cathy Brennan serves as another reminder as to why we gays and lesbians must remain in control of our destiny, not special interest groups.
Unfortunately, while those who produced NYC Dyke March 2012 play ignorant, the good news is the perpetrators involved and led the attack against Ms. Brennan have all been identified.
I encourage Ms. Brennan to file charges.
