Never gonna happen, Nelson

Once again for those who might have been in a deficit the past few days, last week Alan Chambers, the president of Exodus International, made waves when during one of their Love Won Out conference he announced something we already knew, and that is homosexuality is something that can't be cured with prayer and that ex-gays aren't ex-gay.

All the usual sites (Box Turtle Bulletin, Truth Wins Out, Ex-Gay Watch, Warren Throckmorton, Joe.My.God, etc.) celebrated the news, as if they had been vindicated.

Of course, the media, and this would include AP, CNN, MSNBC, FOX NEWS and CURRENT didn't help matters by inviting Alan Chambers and others from the organization onto their infotainment shows to speak on this.

But there's one thing all the aforementioned bloggers, journalists, infotainers, and news sites didn't do and that is call on Mr. Chambers to say or speak these words:

"I am gay and always have been gay."

But I did.

His response, which I have to admit came as a surprise because I'm on a blacklist of sorts, was what I expected all along given all the hype he generated the past few days for his "christian" organization:

@ngblog Never gonna happen, Nelson.

Feel free to visit or  subscribe my Twitter feed and read my day long exchange with Chambers; however, for those who can't, won't, or fear retribution from the kapos and brownshirts and GayInc wannabees, he followed up by claiming he's being honest and pointing people to God.

But what God is that? Is it the one who prefers lies over truth? Who advocates violence and murder and tells people to seek comfort and find solace with haters and oppresors such as Bryan Fischer, Peter LaBarbera, and Ruben Diaz, just to name a few?

As I noted to Chambers, that's the god Alan Chambers serves.

But don't expect Chambers to show me up and denounce that God and the people I cited who worship him.

He doesn't have the cohones to do it.

By the way, I am fully aware the joke may be on me and will wind up losing "friends" and followers, but better me be a joke than a fool.
